Terms, fees & policy

Last updated: 13 September 2026

1. What Zinzer is

Zinzer is a local marketplace that connects people who need work done (“customers”) with skilled tradespeople looking for work. Posting a job is free. Tradespeople pay a small fee when they apply for a job, and a larger fee if they are accepted for the job.

2. Account types

You must choose one account type when you sign up and you cannot change it later:

  • Customer — you can post jobs, review tradespeople and mark jobs as complete.
  • Tradesperson — you can apply for jobs, upload a portfolio, build a public profile and chat with customers.

3. Posting jobs

Customers can post jobs for free. A job must include a real postcode so tradespeople can see work in their chosen radius. Jobs are publicly visible once posted. You are responsible for the accuracy of the description, photos and budget you provide.

4. Applying for jobs and fees

When a tradesperson applies for a job, they are charged a £2 application fee. If the customer accepts that tradesperson for the job, an additional £10 acceptance fee is charged automatically using the payment method saved during checkout. The tradesperson is then put in touch with the customer through the job chat.

If a customer turns down an offer and the job is still open, the tradesperson can send a new offer for a £0.50 re-offer fee, charged to their saved payment method.

Application, acceptance and re-offer fees help keep job postings free for customers and maintain the platform.

5. No refund policy

All fees are non-refundable. This includes:

  • The £2 application fee, even if the customer does not reply or chooses someone else.
  • The £10 acceptance fee, even if the job is later cancelled, postponed or not completed.
  • The £0.50 re-offer fee, even if the new offer is also turned down.
  • Any other platform charges.

By applying for or accepting a job on Zinzer, you agree that no refunds will be given under any circumstances. Please make sure you are happy with a job before applying or accepting.

6. Cancellations

A customer or tradesperson may cancel a job arrangement at any time by agreement, but the fees already paid to Zinzer will not be returned. Zinzer only provides the introduction; the actual contract for the work is between the customer and the tradesperson.

7. Conduct

Be honest, respectful and safe. Do not post fake jobs, spam, offensive content or misleading information. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.

8. Reviews

Customers can leave a review for a tradesperson only after a job has been marked as complete. Reviews must be genuine and based on actual work carried out. Tradespeople may not pay or reward customers for positive reviews.

9. Privacy

We only share contact details between a customer and tradesperson once the tradesperson has been accepted for a job. Public profiles show only the information you choose to add, such as your name, area, bio, trade, portfolio and reviews.

10. Liability

Zinzer introduces customers and tradespeople but is not responsible for the quality, timing, cost or outcome of any work agreed between users. Any dispute about the work itself must be resolved directly between the customer and the tradesperson.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Zinzer after changes means you accept the updated terms.

12. Contact

If you have questions about these terms, please contact us through your account or by emailing support@zinzer.co.uk.
